Getting Help, Giving Help

As a teacher one of the most rewarding experiences one can have is seeing the next generations succeed in achieving their personal, professional and academic goals. However, every once in awhile we are equally forced to witness one of the most wretched events than can occur in the world of teaching - when a student takes their own life.

This is the antithesis of every reason a teacher chooses to teach. Not only do we see the tragedy of a young life full of potential cut down, we see the loneliness, hurt, and frustration overwhelm, overpower and destroy these students for which we are responsible.

We also see the unfairness of the world, and the bigotry and the cruelness that can cause intense feelings of isolation, anxiety and despair.

We, as teachers, chose this career to help provide students with the necessary strengths and tools they need to forge their identity and character so that they may face world ahead. We are also always available to help students out of those dark, desolate places that lead them to do things that can never be undone.

It is for these reasons that I have just launched an extra page on the EnglishCaddy website offering resources of where you can find help if ever you feel lonely or depressed or isolated. And to stand as my personal commitment to always be there whenever you need to talk. You are NEVER alone...

For whatever reason, for whatever you're experiencing!  Talk to us!  Talk to me!  Talk to somebody!

Take some time to look at the following information to find how you can help your friends or even a stranger.  Make the world a kinder and braver place.

Music Inspires, Music Motivates, Music Moves!

  • It Gets Better - by Broadway Sings for the Trevor Project
"Life is like a book all you gotta do is turn the page."  Stunning lyrics and vocals, but what could be more beautiful than Broadway's best talents coming together to magically inspire us?
  • Firework - by Katy Perry
"'Cause there's a spark in you!" When we don't always fit in, we must teach others how to accept who we are by celebrating ourselves.
  • Born this Way - by Lady Gaga
  • Born this Way - Glee Cover (amazing quality!)
Pump up the volume, dance, sing and love yourself today! "I'm on the right track baby I was born to survive!"
  • Beautiful - By Christina Aguilera
"Don't you bring me down today." A ballad celebrating our differences.  How boring would life be if we were all the same.  So make someone's life a little less boring - be DIFFERENT!
  • Perfect - by Pink
"Never feel like you're less than f*%king perfect" Maybe sometimes we feel less than perfect, but we will always be perfect in somebody else's eyes.
  • Stronger - by Kelly Clarkson
"What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, stand a little taller!  Doesn't mean I'm lonely when I'm alone." When someone gets control over our feelings, well that's the time to become a fighter. "Thanks to you I got a new day started."
  • Hero - by Mariah Carey
"You don't have to be afraid of who you are!" Hope springs eternal in each of our hearts.
  • Heal the World - by Michael Jackson
"Make a little space, make a better place." No matter what we think we know of Michael Jackson there is no denying that he was one hell of an optimist.
